Ricardo (Rick) Montano is an Enterprise Architect within Southern California Edison’s (SCE) Enterprise Architecture, Planning, and Strategy (EAP&S) group in the company’s Information Technology (IT) Organization. Ricardo is responsible for developing system architectures, requirement documents, system specifications, and test plans for projects related to SCE’s Grid Modernization efforts. Ricardo has been leading SCE’s implementation of a new Field Area Network (FAN) for the distribution system. Previously, Ricardo was part of SCE’s SmartConnect program where he assisted in the developing SCE’s Home Area Network (HAN) Lab and in testing SCE’s AMI Network. Ricardo has a large amount of experience with AMI systems and has participated in many standard development organizations. Ricardo earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. He also has Certificates in Systems Engineering and Architecting from the University of California, Irvine and from the University of Southern California.
