Scott Klauminzer has been in the Information Technology and Security fields for over 28 years. He is currently the Critical Infrastructure Protection Lead at Tacoma Power. He participates on the Electricity Subsector Coordinating Council Senior Executive Workgroup (SEWG) on Cybersecurity. He represented Tacoma Public Utilities and the American Public Power Association (APPA) and Large Public Power Council (LPPC) in the NIST Cybersecurity Framework development process, the ESCC mapping of the NIST Framework to subsector specific tools such as the ES-C2M2, and the 2.0 update to DOE’s C2M2 being conducted in 2018. He also participated in the update to ISO/IEC 27019:2017- Information security controls for the energy utility industry. He serves on the University of Washington Tacoma’s Institute of Technology Advisory Board and as Chair of the Security, Risk and Compliance Committee for the Utilities Technology Council. He loves to tinker with technology, but being outdoors with family, and coaching and paddling with dragon boat and outrigger canoe teams are what keep him happy.
